This mobile unit has been my go to all season. It fits on my backpack perfectly and is hands down my lightest setup with my climbing sticks. The best stand I ever used prior to this was the lone wolf hand climber now it's the .5. This stand bites like crazy and is feather light. For those hard to get to spots on public lands where you can't leave stands, esp one this nice, this stand is incredible. Across lakes, through swamps, over mountains.... It goes anywhere I go and I hardly even know it's on my back. I haven't even dive into all the accessories yet other than the backpack straps which are awesome too. I'll never buy another treestand again as long as I'm able, God willing. It's a game changer.

Just got the .5 in the mail a month or so ago, thrown it in the tree in the yard for some practice, so far real impressed with how light and sturdy it is. Love the sidekick, just got that, was really tired of bringing a tree hook everywhere. And I've got 2 of the wind indicators, more for the compass than anything else, tucks nicely in the bino harness so I can just look down and know I'm still on course, keep the extra in the truck incase lose the one I'm using...

Bought the .5 because I needed an ultralight and simple setup to dive into the public land marshes in wi that I hunt. The areas I targeted this season are far off the beaten path and required wading through creeks and small rivers. The stand was so light and easy to haul that I was able to get into the hard to reach areas and close the deal on my first season with it. For a small stand, it was plenty roomy and I never felt unsafe in it. I’ve gotten on the deer like never before because of it.

I ran a saddle for 5 years. I made the switch to the . 5 and couldn't be more happy. I hunt lower and feel I'm hide better. The setup is more comfortable. I went with the standard post (I'm 5' 9") and large seat. Really compact, light weight, easy to setup and rock solid on the tree. A friend bought a knock off of these and the Lone Wolf is so much better. The attention to every little detail makes these stands.

Saved up the money for one of these .5’s and man am I glad I did. I’ve wanted one for a long time and it’s by FAR the best hang-on on the market. Also, I’m 6’4 225lbs with a size 14 shoe and I can sit for 4-5 hours very comfortably. I foresee adding a 1.0 in the future but I have absolutely zero complaints with this stand. Great job LWCG!!

This is the best hunting purchase I’ve made in 5 years since I bought my first lone wolf assault. Tried the saddle game and didn’t care for it. However the extra 5lbs of carrying the stand over the saddle was a down side to the stand on the long public land walks. To be able to save 4lb from the assault to the .5 is well worth the money. The design in the stand is well thought out and clean. For anyone wondering if the .5 is too small I assure you it’s not. I initially thought it would be a stand meant for a few hour sits. After using it on an out of state trip I definitely don’t see a problem using it for all day sits. The gaps in the platform are close enough together that your feet won’t hurt on all day sits. I can’t recommend this stand enough

My only regret is not jumping into one of these .5’s earlier. Having run a 1.0 for the past two seasons, I made quick work of tagging my first deer in the .5 on a quick sit in January of 2024. It's a great stand to use in those impossible crooked trees,it will fit anywhere and any tree!! It's as light weight as alot of saddle platforms but still gives you the options of a hang on stand ! I personally use it as both sometimes I saddle hunt with it as my platform and sometimes i use it as intended as a traditional hang on ,bottom line is the possibilities are endless with this stand It's amazing ,I'm 6' 4" 240lbs size 14 boot and if you are a hunter who grew up hunting on tree limbs ,or old 2X4's nailed to a tree then this thing being "too small" won't bother you at all, your there to hunt not recline on a sofa ,this stand is the stand above all stands Imo ! A Great American made product !!

This is a great stand it’s a dream to hang on the tree and it’s the perfect size to use as a traditional stand or a saddle platform. A couple of cons though I’m 5’10” 175 pound and the small size seat that comes standard on this stand is not the most comfortable thing out there. The next thing is the foam for the cushion is very loud on my sitka clothes it sounds a lot like rubber squeaking, like rubber boots on a stands cables. None of this is a deal breaker by no means stealth stripping the cushion would fix that problem.

Love the stand. Super light. Packs well. But the seat cushion leaves a lot to be desired. No real problems using the back pack straps to carry the stand climbing up the sticks. Super solid once it’s cammed over. But 30 minutes and my butt hurts from sitting.

Simply the best. I have used multiple other methods to hunt out over the years and when you want a mobile lock on stand. This is the one to get. Everything has been thought of how the stand, sticks, and all the things function together. I couldn’t ask for a better light weight setup I can run and gun with.
When it comes to the size of the .5 it is small, but that is by design. I’m 5’9ish and don’t mind sitting in this for a few hours at all. The main thing is getting the seat level to the ground to not create uncomfortable spots while sitting. But that goes into how the top stand off bracket is designed you can angle this on any tree you can climb in. Sideways, crooked, knots, limbs, it doesn’t really matter this and other LWCG stands will stick.
I also run a .75 but have continuously went back to this one just because I do hunt so deep on public land. It is really the “Public Land Stand”.

The DS.5 is literally the best run and gun public land stand I've ever used. I was using the DS 1.0 but now that I have the .5 its my go to for public land sits while the 1.0 pulls private land duty. For those that like to hunt using a saddle, the .5 gives you the option of hunting hybrid style or stand style or both on those all day sits. The integration built in for sticks, whether it be the compacts or the doubles is industry leading. I own both sets of sticks and both work flawlessly with the .5 Do yourself a favor and add this to your arsenal, you won't regret it.
